WIP Friday

First--thanks to everyone who commented on my iPod. Besides my engagement ring it's the coolest present dear husband has ever come up with, seriously.

A finished object:

Little Rage's Mittens
I-cord still in progress. I used Dreambaby DK and the mitten pattern from The Knitter's Handy Book of Patterns by Ann Budd.

I think that I am going to make Fridays a WIP day. So here's the full disclosure on what's on the needles as of right now:

(1) Debbie Bliss sweater for Little Rage--I haven't worked on it this week; but I'm getting very close to the neck decreases.
(2) Rogue Revisited--I have one sleeve done and that's it--it's been kind of back burnered until I get the kiddos sweaters done--they grow faster than I do :)
(3) Hooded T--those of you that have been around for a while know that I started this in the spring. I have everything done but the hood--so why don't I work on it? As dumb as it sounds; I don't want to work on it because it's a summer thing. Maybe in February when I'm wishing for 80 degree weather I'll bring it out.
(4) Mini-mitten project: I need to finish a pair for Little Diva.
(5) Queen of Hearts scarf for Little Diva. This one will actually get more action once I finish my mini-mitten project.
(6) Beginner's Triangle--my poor Gathering of Lacealong project; I love the way it looks but concentrating on it for extended periods of time tests my frazzled nerves. It will be done before spring! (I'll keep telling myself that)

What I need to start:

(1) Knitted Gift Bag from Handknit Holidays--I'm going to use some of the Knit Picks Palette yarn; I'm not sure which colors yet.
(2) Jaywalker socks--I already have yarn picked out; I just need to start them.

Do you always sign your projects? If not, why? If so, do you use your first name, initials or what?

I didn't when I started but I have for the last 6 years or so. At first it didn't even occur to me to do it, but then someone brought up the archival aspect of it--having a baseline reference for history. Now I put my initials and the year completed somewhere on the piece--any place where it would be inconspicuous.

Be glad that your kids grow faster than you do. You must be keeping is shape instead of eating everything in sight (like I am) during the holiday season! ;)

As you can see, I am playing blog catch-up again. :) The mittens look good - must have been a fast, fun project! And I'm so impressed by your NANO word count -- you'll achieve 50,000 no problem!

At least I have a new, more fun excuse for being so out-of-touch lately -- I started doing the online dating thing, and while it is very amusing, it is also like having a part-time job! :)

Sign ups have ended. EDIT: Sign ups end January 1 at 5pm Mountain time. Anyone interested in using some of your stash in order to make room for some new spring stuff? Join me in a very informal knitalong. Stashalong--Week 2 of 13

How did everyone fair after week 1? My utmost respect goes out to all of you with the fortitude to actually enter a yarn shop and not buy yarn--as I have commented to others, you won't even see me near one in the next 3 months. I'm having so much fun popping in on everyone and I'm not pointing any fingers but I have read some interesting comments and some knitters can be very sneaky indeed--that's all I'll say. I want to introduce you to jillz ; she missed the sign ups so she is not a official member, BUT she has earned the title of "the Rogue Stashalonger". She is trying to take things one month at time. I know we all have our temptations, but she---wait for it---works in a yarn shop! As I told her, I would have cheated before I finished typing if I was working in a yarn shop(much like "The Bet" episode of Seinfeld). Out of Town

Stashalongers : there will not be a post this Tuesday and you have my deepest apologies for that. My Grandfather passed away this morning and I need to get to NY. Everything should be back to normal for our Week 13 of 13 post on the 28th :) I know a few of you have jumped off the wagon and I'll have all that in my post next time. Thanks again for all your prayers and well wishes--he passed peacefully in his sleep and I think that's the best way to go. If there is a lighter side to this, my husband will be alone with my kiddos for more than 12 hours for the first time. You have no idea how badly I want to hide cameras around the house to see what goes on. Happy knitting everyone--no jumping off the wagon while I'm gone! Stacey and Cynthia --my gushing post about your very generous and much appreciated gifts will be up before I go--hopefully! If not then it will be up as soon as I get back :)
