TUSAL

Totally Useless SAL for April(where is this year going, I can't believe it's April already)! Check out the blue sky in the background and the beginning of leaves! Bring on the hot weather :) No stitching jar this month--just the knitting jar. I should be adding more to the jar by next month because hockey playoffs are starting and I knit through the games :) Lets Go Pens!

Trying to Cure SSS

Image
I have had a severe case of Second Sock Syndrome(SSS) over the last year. I have three finished socks and none of them made a matching pair. I have started to remedy that. Stats: Yarn: Red Rocks Fiber Works Needles: Size 2 dpns Pattern: Rick, from Sock Innovation And, although it's a little late, I have my picture for the Totally Useless SAL . I have added to both jars over the last month. Lots of red in the stitching jar thanks to the Bramble and the Rose :)

TUSAL and Olympic Progress

Image
I am a little late in posting my Totally Useless SAL progress but here it is: I decided to start using two jars; one for knitting, one for stitching. I didn't get a lot of time to stitch this weekend--it is always harder to find time when everyone is home. I am going to to kick it into high gear this week. I love, love, love the thread I am using for this. I have always admired pieces people have done with DMC 115 and love it even more seeing it in person.

Winter Lace Afghan & TUSAL

Image
First finished project of 2010. Stats: Needles: Size 11 Yarn: Lion Brand Thick and Quick, Claret Pattern: Winter Lace Afghan, Free at Lion Brand It's very easy knitting once you get the pattern down. It makes a heavy, nice sized, lap blanket. I have also decided to participate in the Totally Useless SAL again. I'm using my jar that I started in July. I'm thinking I might divide it into two jars--one knitting, one stitching. Here is the jar as it is now--the bulky yarn from the blanket really added to the contents.

Here is my October post for the TUSAL. Still more knitting than cross stitch in there.

Totally Useless SAL--month 2

Image
A day late but here it is: There was not a lot of stitching in the last month--none actually--but there was some knitting. Hopefully I'll have more next month. If you want to play along, look here .

Totally Useless SAL--Month 1

Month 1 for me anyway. Not a lot going on in there so far. Stitching and knitting scraps. It will be kind of fun watching this grow. Close up: Want to play along? Go here and find out more.

Totally Useless SAL

I have been seeing this on numerous stitching blogs over the past few months and I finally decided to go see what exactly the details were. I went here and it looks like fun so I'm in :) Brief rules summary(quick reference for me): 1. Find a see-through container: i.e., mayonnaise jar, fish bowl, jelly/jam jar, something you'll enjoy. Containers may be changed at your pleasure. 2. Every time you are stitching throughout the coming year you agree to put all your "stitching throw aways" in this container. This may include: **regular Orts (thread ends) **little snips of fabric **broken buttons **a bead or two **worn out needles **the labels from used up floss skeins **whatever you like, as long as it is, or rather, was going to be part of a stitching project currently underway 3. You may include orts from any type of stitching project: cross stitch, knitting, crochet, whatever, but please do not include other craft leftovers such as paper crafts, rubber stamping, etc. I...
