Christmas Crafting

I found a tutorial for yarn wreaths and I think it would be a fun weekend project to do with the kiddos. In addition to continuing the tradition we started last year of making our own glass ball ornaments stuffed with shredded Christmas paper, glitter, and/or yarn/stitching scraps. I also got this book, Holiday Boutique Knitting , and I LOVE the wreath patterns in it--I want to make them all.

Halloween--Little Diva style

Yes, the Little Diva "mommy sweatshop" is working in full force this fall. Besides her cross stitch piece I am knitting her two things for her Halloween costume. You see, my darling daughter wants to be Hermione for Halloween(I couldn't be more thrilled and no I didn't encourage her too much towards this idea ;)). Their color always captivated me; they are such beautiful birds. I'll never forget when one of her cats brought her a present--a beautiful, red, dead cardinal--seriously, it's the first time I saw that she was capable of murder--that cat almost lost all of it's nine lives. Needless to say he didn't go after a cardinal again ;) She has to spend this Christmas in a rehab center because she broke her arm and needs physical therapy. I always think of her over the holidays. Her cooking(the delicious smells, the "Granny slices" which were usually a quarter of the cake or pie) , the way she decorated, all the effort...
