Stitching Weekly

I worked on Misty Weniera this weekend. It was the last SAL challenge for the year. I participated 10 out of 12 months. At the beginning of the year I started with blank fabric and now I have about a page and quarter done. I'm proud of my progress considering that I only worked on it during SAL weekends. Not too shabby for only about 40 days work--imagine how much would be done if I worked on it every day :) I'm actually getting into stitching the foreground of the piece. There are cattails and grasses starting to come into focus. **stay tuned for knitting content either later today(if I have time) or tomorrow morning. ***Also, I got Order of the Phoenix today and the kiddos and I are heading to our neighbors after school to watch it on their 72" TV :)

I worked on Misty Weniera for HAEDs SAL this past weekend and as you can see I got very little done. Only 400 stitches in the bottom left. The other night I picked up I Love Thee for some more work. I had to frog a majority of the black you see there and it sucked. Frogging stinks anytime, but it really stinks when it's over 1 black on white. It's all better now though :) The black on it seems really. . .harsh(I'm not sure if that's the right word), but I trust the chart. **both pics are clickable thumbnails** Nano'07: 22,500/50,000 I'm a little bit behind but my goal is to be over 30,000 words by Monday. I couldn't write last night--I was SOOOO tired. I've literally been nodding off at my keyboard, so I thought I'd take a break last night hopefully it helped.

Misty Weniera--it's happy dance time. The HAED SAL Challenge was this weekend and I've finished a page. I have 8000 of 75600 stitches finished which is 10% :) Fabric: 28 count white Jobelan Stitched: 2 over 1, tent stitch(half cross) **The picture is a clickable thumbnail. Click away if you want to see it bigger. Next week look for I Love Thee and QS Swimming with Dolphins. Back to socks.

I'm going to try and post weekly on my cross stitch pieces; showing my progress on which ever piece or pieces I've worked on that particular week. I'm hoping it will give me incentive to stitch more often(and hopefully my knitting won't suffer). If you want to see what the final product will look like, just click on the pictures or look in the sidebar :) Here's my progress on Misty Weniera from the HAED Yearly SAL this past weekend: And here's my progress on Swimming with Dolphins from QS Wednesday: It's no secret that I love Heaven and Earth Designs charts. These are the charts that brought me back to stitching after a 7-8 year break. I love the detail and the subject matter. I even enjoy browsing the site when I have free time--even if I'm not in the market for a chart. Michele and Bob(the owners) are fabulous to work with--they go above and beyond for their customers. I'm excited to see that they are starting to get some recognition in th...

Misty Weniera--HAED SAL Weekend

**if you want to see what finished piece will look like click on the picture** In the midst of having about 1,000 other things to do this weekend I found time to work on my HAED SAL piece. I had wanted to get page 1 done, but I'm about 2,000 stitches short(if I would have started stitching on Friday instead of Sunday I would have met my goal). Hopefully, I can squeeze in some more time on it this month and still get page 1 done. The HAED team recently started charting a new artist . And I love this and this . I mean I really love them, so much so that--even though I don't need one--I may have a new start in my future. The Keltic Mandala is practically screaming to me to be stitched.

I participated in my monthly HAED SAL this past weekend. I was on a roll and actually got a lot more done than I thought I would. I just love stitching; I'd love to have a long weekend to myself to do nothing but stitch especially when there is so much going on in the piece. Anyway, here's what I got done. Pattern: HAED Misty Weniera by Tracy Butler Fabric: 28 count Jobelan Stitches: 2 over 1, tent(half cross)

HAED SAL weekend was last weekend and I really didn't get a lot of time to stitch but there is a little progress. I think I'm heading into one of those busy times of the year where all my "hobby time" is at a premium. Hopefully I can make a bigger dent in this one next month. My goal is to have page one done by the end of the June SAL.

Start: January 15, 2007-? Fabric: 28 count white Jobelan Stitched: 2 over 1, tent stitch(half cross) SAL weekend is over, so far I've done 3/10 months I'm required to participate. I didn't get a lot done this weekend(I'm up to a little over 3200 stitches). Nice weather, activities with the kiddos, being tired all played into things. I'm starting to get into a confetti intensive section. I may start parking. I'm thinking that I'll mix parking and cross country on this one--the backs of HAED pieces are a disaster anyway. I'm hoping that at some point in the near future HAED will release Deepwoods(another Tracy Butler piece). I really want to stitch that one. There are some artists on the HAED site that are VERY well represented(read saturated); I'm hoping that Michelle and Bob will spread the wealth a little bit. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Yes, it's that time again. Time for HAED's Yearly SAL weekend(the second one of every month this year). Here's what I have gotten done this time around: Start: January 15, 2007-? Fabric: 28 count white Jobelan Stitched: 2 over 1, tent stitch(half cross) I am up to about 2700 stitches. It's difficult to count exactly as I'm kind of working cross country on this one. It's nice to see that tower done. Hopefully next month I can get down to the water. In case you are wondering what the finished piece will look like, here it is. I love this picture. If you want to know some of the story behind it check out Tracy Butler's site , she is illustrating a story she wrote which this piece is a part of.

Having finally finished Magic Witch(hurray!!)and survived the holidays; I feel it is time to add something else to the HAED stitching rotation, because Eternal Promise and Storykeeper just aren't enough(though I love them both dearly). Just as with Magic Witch I will attempt to post regular progress(when it is up in my rotation). I really like watching the piece develop and I also like having an archive of my progess with comments on how I felt at each phase of the project(I guess that's part of what I blog for). ***Well, that was quick. Nicki guessed it correctly. Misty Weniera by Tracy Butler. Congratulations, Nicki, and start shopping for a chart of your choice! Here's the first picture(my progress after this weekends SAL): Start: January 15, 2007-? Fabric: 28 count white Jobelan Stitched: 2 over 1, tent stitch(half cross)
