Must Resist

Urge to shop :) I just keep repeating to myself, "I do not need another chart, I do not need another WIP, I can wait until the next sale, etc." A Confabulation of Dragons Darkling Natures Embrace The Tangle Fairy In Cathedrals of the Forest But I like them so much. . . Maybe just one ;)

Have a Magical Day!

Stash Enhancement. . .

. . .courtesy of the Knitting Crew. They gave me a gift certificate for Heaven and Earth Designs , my favorite cross stitch place, and this is what I got: Winged Things Kells French Filigree QS Exotic Halloween I even have a little left for a rainy day. Thanks again ladies! **oh, and a knitting finish is coming soon**

Me Thinks. . .

. . .it's time for a little shopping. One of my favorite cross stitch designers has FINALLY released the aforementioned Cirque de Carreaux and one or two other things may creep into the cart. I'm not saying what but there are numerous things on this page and this page that really appeal to me. Now if something there doesn't inspire you to want to play with color AND take up cross stitch, then I can't help you ;) ************* Day 10(or whatever day I'm on now--they're all starting to blur)P90XLean: Shoulders and Arms, Ab Ripper I pushed harder with weights this time; I will see how hard tomorrow morning. I am having a little trouble maintaining energy through the first workout while maintaining enough to finish the second(ab ripper is a separate 15+ minute core routine). I have read that some people split these days up and do one of the two workouts later in the day--I think I may be heading that way because my arms were so fried today that balancing for the ...

I want to Carreaux.

I want this pattern . I can't wait until it comes up for sale on the Ink Circles site. I think it would look stunning in DMC 115.

Yarn that Followed Me Home ;)

Image
October yielded some sock yarn shopping and even though I shouldn't have, I did :) Some Socks that Rock in Basan and two in Lenore(I have been lusting after Lenore since I first saw it as a Club offering last year). Some Red Rocks Fiber Works Aspen Sock in the No Repeat colorway. Limited addition and on sale--I just couldn't resist.

Look What I Got

Image
I have been waiting, not so patiently, for months and it is finally here. The Opal Harry Potter yarn has arrived in Colorado and in an unprecedented move for me, I splurged on two of each skein :) **top row(left to right): Hedwig, Harry, Ron and Harry, Ron **bottom row(left to right): Draco, Tonks, Lupin, Dumbledore I have loved Opal sock yarn since I started knitting socks back in 2004 and this yarn is no exception. I love how Tonks and Lupin's colorways are somewhat related. Hedwig looks great too. My biggest beef, I guess, is that instead of a "Harry and Ron" combo colorway why couldn't they have done a Hermione? Or since it's a tribute to Half Blood Prince wouldn't Snape be a logical choice. Not complaining, just sayin' is all. And just because I like looking at them, here's another pic: And another that I messed with using my photo editing software(I can't really tell the difference though?):

What are the odds. . .

of this yarn ending up in shops over here? Because I NEED at least 2 skeins in each colorway. Not that I'm an obsessed fan or anything.

Estes

Image
I went to Estes on Saturday with the knitting crew. Last year I only bought one skein. This year was a different story. Here's what I got at Estes: Stats: Brooksfarm Acero Yarn, Superwash Wool/Silk/Viscose, 420 yards(3 skeins) Stats: Plain and Fancy Sheep & Wool, 100% Wool--Variegated Royal Blue, 400 yards(3 skeins) Stats: Trekking XXL, Superwash Wool/Polyamid--color 147, 459 yards (1 skein) Here's what I got at Colorful after(because I did not bring knitting with me in the morning and wanted something to work on): Stats: Great Adirondack Yarn Company, Merino Superwash--Cranberry Bog, 360 yards(1 skein) This was the beginnings of a sock but this demon skein has decided not too cooperate. First it didn't want to be wound into a ball. When Stacey, Tiffany, and I finally straightened it out, the skein knotted up some more SO I ripped out what I had started, unknotted the yarn, and rewound it into what you see above. I love the color but instead of Cranberry Bog I think it ...
