Dream Toys
I got the book Dream Toys by Claire Garland(of Knitted Babes fame). Little Diva took one look at it and had to have the unicorn(without the flowery saddle thing). So off we went to JoAnns so she could pick her colors. After a few weeks of working on it sporadically here's the finished product:
Pattern: Unicorn, from Dream Toys(Garland)
Yarn: Lion Brand Wool Ease White/Multi(for body)
Lion Brand Wool Ease Gray Heather(for hooves and nose)
Lion Brand Moonlight Mohair in Tundra(for mane and tail)
Filatura di Crosa New Smoking in Gold(for horn)
Needles: size 5
It was a fun project--I was hoping to convince her she needed the mermaid too. You can't tell from the picture but the white is actually white with iridescent thread woven in so it's a sparkly unicorn--which only makes sense. I think it is interesting that it seems to take no time at all to knit a toy up but the assembly takes forever!
