Progress and Pain

I feel like I'm finally making some progress. I know that every time I knit I am making some progress, but when I actually finish a part of something THEN I feel like I am really progressing :)


One Sleeve Done

I'm limping along on my second Rogue; it's only taken me, what, two months to complete one sleeve. But that's okay; I raced through the last one and I really don't mind taking my time with this one.


Little Rage's Sweater(back)

I finished the back of Little Rage's sweater this week. It's a Debbie Bliss pattern from one of the "Knitting on the Go" books. I wasn't sure if I liked the cabled rib on the top but it's kind of growing on me. I'm using Plymouth Encore; I love this yarn for kid's stuff. It's not too expensive, it knits up well, and it holds up to washing well.

This week will be mostly a stitching one--I'll knit if I need a break :)

Well, it's off to get some haircuts. Let me just fill you in on this one. Yesterday Little Diva asked for some scissors so that she could make a puppet. Well, stupid me, I give her the scissors and I go take a shower. I come downstairs and she has proceeded to cut a good portion of the hair off the left side of her head!!!!! "Why would you do that?!?!?" I asked her. "Because it was in my way." So this morning we are off to see if we can salvage anything--she'll either look like a boy for a while or she'll have a mullet. I'm not sure which is worse.

Oh my, Kim. Don't hurt Little Diva! I hope she doesn't end up with a mullet. If her hair looks like a boy, well, it will grow out. Great progress on the sleeve. Besides, you've been working on lots of other projects.

I've had "boy hair" for most of my life and it hasn't killed me yet, so I think LDiva will survive. :) I've never tried Encore, but maybe will have to give it a try.

Oh no! :) Yep, I remember my little sister once cutting off pigtails, clear below the ponytail holders. Every kid has to have a self-haircut, right?

I think the sleeve looks great- and we (although maybe I shouldn't say this, but better to be armed with info, right?) get snow sometimes into May, so there is still a lot of winter left.

Hope you'll post a pic of the haircut- I know many of those are in my future. :)

Stashalong--Sign ups end Jan.1

Sign ups have ended. EDIT: Sign ups end January 1 at 5pm Mountain time. Anyone interested in using some of your stash in order to make room for some new spring stuff? Join me in a very informal knitalong. Here are the rules: (1) Must start and try to finish something from your stash yarn(I say "try" to finish because if you pick something huge like an afghan or sweater finishing in three months may not be realistic). (2) You have 3 months and during that time you cannot add to your stash in any way(things ordered before January 1 but not yet delivered do not count--hence the early warning--get it out of your systems, ladies). Of course realistically there is no way to police this, so the honor system is in place. Memory Lane

 Came back…looking through old posts.  There are many times when I really miss blogging. Life has been super busy.  Work, family…pretty stressful.
