Just Under the Wire

Another knitting finish, crazy huh? It's only because it's a small project. It's another pair of baby socks. I think every baby needs a pair of Socks that Rock and a winter baby needs some rich winter colors, so I present Baby A with these: Yarn: STR Farmhouse Pattern: Needlepoint Joint's Baby Socks pattern, modified in the heel and cuff Needles: size 2 dpns

Best of 2007

I lifted this from KnitLit : 1. your best FO of the year: I think that would be the Gryffindor Fair Isle Pouch Bag --I just love the way that turned out. 2. best FO of the year made by a blog you link to: I can't narrow this down to just ONE finished object, SOOOO, pretty much everything Marina finished this year. 3. best yarn you tried: Well the only new yarn I tried was Red Rock Fiber Works Aspen Sock and I loved it! 4. best new book/mag/pattern of 2007: Book: Charmed Knits --there were others too but this is the one I find myself looking at all the time. Magazine: Craft --this isn't all knitting/sometimes none at all but it's cool Pattern: MS3 --although mine isn't finished yet--it was my favorite pattern of 2007 5. best new knitting technique or gadget you tried in 2007 : The knitted kitchener from Knitting Daily--loved it! It went beyond an "a-ha" moment for me--it was more like a "Holy Sh*t, this looks 1000 times better than any kitchener I...

I finally finished something and it's knitting--can you believe it?! I made this blanket for my cousin's baby boy who is now a month old. I love, love, love this pattern. It's the Corner to Corner Blanket from Knit Baby Blankets by Gwen Steege. I used the LB Pound of Love yarn because they can only have acrylic(lots of allergies). It's great yarn, really. It washes up nice and soft and I only had 2 ends to weave in--you can't beat that. I don't know if I ever put the finished HP Pouch bag up, but here it is. Little Diva used it for Halloween and promptly lost interest so now it's mine(which I had sort of planned on all along--lol!) So the good news, for me, is that my stitching obligations for the remainder of the year are done and I've gotten the baby blanket monkey off my back SO now I can work on finishing Miss Stacey's Jaywalkers(they have moved up to priority one), my Jaywalkers, and whatever else I can squeeze in between now and January 1.

Stitching Weekly

I worked on Misty Weniera this weekend. It was the last SAL challenge for the year. I participated 10 out of 12 months. At the beginning of the year I started with blank fabric and now I have about a page and quarter done. I'm proud of my progress considering that I only worked on it during SAL weekends. Not too shabby for only about 40 days work--imagine how much would be done if I worked on it every day :) I'm actually getting into stitching the foreground of the piece. There are cattails and grasses starting to come into focus. **stay tuned for knitting content either later today(if I have time) or tomorrow morning. ***Also, I got Order of the Phoenix today and the kiddos and I are heading to our neighbors after school to watch it on their 72" TV :)

Really?!

The results of this one are suspect to me. What are the criteria? I guess that helps me feel better about the "G" rating my blog got when I checked that out. Get a Cash Advance **We celebrated Rage's 5th Birthday yesterday and it was ALL about Spongebob. Did you ever try to put together one of those Lego kits? It's crazy. The directions are brilliant but when I opened up the box and saw all those pieces I was stunned. DH and I decided that businesses should use those kits as team building exercises.

Checking in.

You Are Eggnog Rich, sweet, and probably a little drunk. Everyone who knows you tends to get a little fatter. What Holiday Food Are You? I have been working furiously trying to finish up my cousin's baby blanket. I'm stuck in that never ending no man's land where every row seems to take you further and further away from being done. It's like treading water :)
