The Three-peat is Complete!!

Image
I finished just after midnight. And got it verified. And got my winner buttons and certificate. Year three of my Nanowrimo is complete. And it could not have come a moment too soon--finishing my story this year was tough. I ended up with 50,900+ words and when I verified there were 3157 others who had finished too. That is pretty cool considering close to 100,000 had started off the month. It will be interesting to see how many actually finish by midnight on Friday. I have enjoyed my celebratory cupcake and now I am going to bed and I am going to give my fingers a bit of a rest. Then it is back to knitting, stitching, and blogging. Hurray!! I have missed all of them :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

I'll be offline tomorrow(not that I haven't been most of this month anyhow), so I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! Nano update: 33289/50000--if all goes well I should finish on Monday night!!

Stitching Weekly

I worked on Misty Weniera for HAEDs SAL this past weekend and as you can see I got very little done. Only 400 stitches in the bottom left. The other night I picked up I Love Thee for some more work. I had to frog a majority of the black you see there and it sucked. Frogging stinks anytime, but it really stinks when it's over 1 black on white. It's all better now though :) The black on it seems really. . .harsh(I'm not sure if that's the right word), but I trust the chart. **both pics are clickable thumbnails** Nano'07: 22,500/50,000 I'm a little bit behind but my goal is to be over 30,000 words by Monday. I couldn't write last night--I was SOOOO tired. I've literally been nodding off at my keyboard, so I thought I'd take a break last night hopefully it helped.

In case anyone was wondering. . .

I'm not dead. Just writing. Writing, writing, writing in a majority of my limited free time. Ah, Nano time. I did a teeny, tiny bit of cross stitch this weekend. I'll post my meager progress tomorrow. It also just hit me that the Christmas with kiddos clock is ticking--if you know what I mean. I've got some work to do :) 19,084/50,000--current word count

Jaywalker 3--halfway there!

Half a finish. I finished half of Stacey's Jaywalker 3 sock yesterday. Yarn: Aspen Sock(Red Rock Fiberworks)/Sheep in the City colorway Needles: size 2 Pattern: Jaywalker sock from Mag knits(smaller cast on) I'll start the second after she gets a chance to try this one on and is sure she likes the fit :) I'll work on mine until I track her down. Nano '07--5124/50000 as of last night

November Goals

1. Finish Nanowrimo for the third time! 2. Finish a pair of pink socks. 3. Work on Misty Weniera during the SAL weekend(November 9-12) 4. Work on I Love Thee 5. Finish the baby blanket. I think that's ambitious enough--although I also have a Christmas gift that needs to get done too.

Awesome!

Living out West has many advantages but when you've grown up back East there are some things you miss. One of the biggest for DH and I is that we can't see our favorite hockey teams. We do get NHL season pass on our satellite dish, but we still miss seeing our teams in person. Well, for me at least, that was remedied last night when the Avs played the Pittsburgh Penguins. I haven't seen the Pens play in person since I lived in Buffalo. Last night was the first time they played the Avs since 2003 or something close to that. DH knows how much I love them and because he loves me he got our family tickets to the game. . .not just any tickets. . . 3rd row, ice level tickets. It's cool to see a live hockey game anytime. In the "nose bleed" seats(where we usually are) the players look like little ants skating around and you feel like if you fall out of your seat you'll end up on someone's lap two tiers below. In box seats, you have a lot more room to move aro...

Stitching Weekly

Image
Stitching Weekly has been missing for a few weeks as you may have noticed. Between our trip, recovery from the trip(which is still ongoing for Little Rage), and Halloween, things have been pretty busy at casa KIP. Now I'm finally getting into the swing of things again--just in time for my November Nanowrimo madness(but that's a whole other story). May I present to you I Love Thee . I am LOVING working on this so far. I have been wanting to try one of HAED's monochromatic charts for a while and it was a toss up between this one and Motherhood which also comes in this form if you're not into mermaids.. (I still want to stitch Motherhood at some point) Stats: Pattern: I Love Thee--Seed--Heaven and Earth Designs Fabric: 28 count white lugana(I think, I didn't mark it before I stashed it) Stitched: 2 over 1, tent

It's about that time

For Nanowrimo 2007! I'm going for the three-peat this year. The first year I won I had written a novel from a very well though out idea in my head. I had pages of outlines and notes and research. The second year I took an idea and a basic outline and flew by the seat of my pants. This year I'm thinking of trying my hand at fanfic . 50,000 words, here I come!
