Socktober--Follow up

I finished two socks in October. One I posted about the other day and the second is right here:

I also started another sock(nothing like having three pairs going on at the same time). It is the Braided Gem sock from Knitting Socks with Handpainted Yarn. I like the pattern but the yarn is another story. It's Mini Mochi from Crystal Palace. It's really soft and the color is stunning but it is a nightmare to work with. It splits, it has knots, and it is almost impossible to rip out.

Insanity--the big finish

5October09--I started my second month today with a fit test AND a workout, as scheduled, and good Lord I am already sore. That extra 20 minutes or so of cardio is killer. After the first cardio circuit was complete I was dying and by the third circuit I think I was experiencing another plane of being.

15October2009--I have finished my first week of the Max workouts. They have somewhere around 10ish more minutes of cardio and, let me tell you, you feel every second of those 10 minutes. It's not that the first month wasn't hard--it was. . .is--but adding that extra time was killer. I hurt my back during yesterday's workout--a pain located between my shoulder blade and spine on my right side--so I decided to take today off. The pain has subsided quite a bit and I'll gingerly get back into the program tomorrow. Hopefully this only puts me a day behind. I dread the thought of having to double up to get back on track :(

16October2009--My back has stopped hurting after my unplanned rest day and I did double up today. Max Interval Plyo and Max Cardio Recovery. Surprisingly it wasn't that hard--after the first 20 minutes you're only concentrating on breathing anyhow ;)

20October2009--I have less than two weeks left. I have been dying this week; I have hit a wall. I just feel like I have no energy at all; it makes these hard workouts even harder. I'm sure some, if not all, of it is diet related.

22October2009--I finished Max Recovery for the last time :) Hitting the homestretch now.

31October2009--This was my last day of workouts(only the final Fit Test left) and I missed it. In my defense, it's Halloween, a Saturday, and I have been shoveling snow for the last 4 days in addition to my workouts.

1November2009--Final Fit Test
Fit Tests:
Exercise/Day 1/Day 60
Switch Kicks/115/135
Power Jacks/58/65
Power Knees/90/120
Power Jumps/40/60
Globe Jumps/10/12
Suicide Jumps/15/18
Push-up Jacks/25/45
Low Plank Obliques/65/100

I am pleased with my progress and I would recommend Insanity to anyone who wants to improve their cardio. I love that there is no equipment and as long as you are somewhere you can play a DVD, you can take it with you.

Now I am trying to decide what to do next. I was going to go right into another round of Insanity tomorrow BUT I think I may take it easy this week. Maybe 5 workouts instead of 6 and Turbo Jam/P90X Yoga instead of something really challenging. I may start Insanity round 2 next week--I figure it will get me through the holidays without a huge weight gain.
