I'm Back :)

We have just returned after our whirlwind trip to Utah! Got to knit with my old knitting buds(and it was awesome--love you guys!!), got to shop at NPJ and Shepherd's Bush, got to visit the old haunts--fun was had by all. Got to see Viggo on Letterman yesterday--it's always a good day when Viggo makes an appearance :)

I'll post pics of my new acquisitions on Monday. In the car I got plenty of work done on my Sirius Black in progress--he's lookin' good so far. And on the way to Utah I was going to work on my little diva's scarf(it WAS more than halfway done); in a fit of rage/insanity, I'm not sure which, I ripped it ALL out--took it apart and decided to knit it in the round thus doubling the pattern BUT that's a good thing as I don't know how to strand in purl. So I'll be really, really good at stranded knitting after completing the scarf, right? That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

In the spirit of continuing the "talk like a pirate day" I have included my pirate name--the whole pirate thing cracks me up, so please bear with me.

My pirate name is:

Black Bess Cash

Like anyone confronted with the harshness of robbery on the high seas, you can be pessimistic at times. You're musical, and you've got a certain style if not flair. You'll do just fine. Arr!

Get your own pirate name from fidius.org.

Have a great weekend!
Aloha:)
(Secret Pal--I got your email and I'll reply tomorrow--I have to go bath the kiddos right now)

Ten years ago:
I had just finished my Masters as a K-12 Reading Specialist(which I thought was awesome for many reasons one of which being that I can end my name with the initials MSED--I'm easily amused), I had started my first full time job as an adult ed. instructor--preparing folks on welfare for the GED exam(lots of motivation there I can tell you--at the time I was still living at home and most of my students had their own place, a car, cable, and numerous other luxuries paid for by NYS), and I began looking for a full time teaching job anywhere :)

Little Diva's scarf will be just as nice and warm for NEXT winter too -- just to relieve some of the pressure. ;) hee
