The Sock WAS Done

The sock was done. Notice that "was" is the operative word here. Last night I sat down with a pot of coffee and the unfinished sock. At midnight the sock was finished and I was weaving in the ends when I noticed the dropped stitch in the heel :( Don't ask me how it happened--I should have learned the caffeine lesson after the ball winder incident a few weeks ago.

The picture above is where I am at now--I had to pull it out to the cuff, I've just turned the heel, and I'm in the process of finishing the gusset decreases.

I'll just repeat the mantra I learned from Margene--"it's the process, it's the process, . . ." Maybe I should try the opposite approach tonight--I'll drink a bottle of wine and see how things progress from there :)!!

Happy knitting!
Aloha :)

I am certainly all in favor of a bottle of wine, but I would recommend drinking half of it before you work on the sock, and the other half afterward. ;)

Margene is right...it is the process. I always feel like I'm learning something new or doing something better each time I knit a new project. Go for the wine!
